November 06 It is all crazy! Sad, too sad!!!!! Monty is gone....What a bad week, in fact what a very strange week, nothing is happening the way it should, after all it has all been carefully thought for five years, it is not jumpìng into a plane and setting off, it has all gone round and round in my head for a long time and it should had been pretty straight forward. My idilic farm is a nightmare, I will in fact dedicate a whole chapter to it... But today, I just wanted to let you know, that my crazy, loving beautiful Monty is gone, and I am hurting and Paddy is devastated. The sad thing is that she is gone, dead? who knows? Three days ago, eight in the morning, she was outside, I leave to take Paddy to school, half an hour later I returned to find out she was gone. We walked for six hours, looked into every pond, every pool, every track and every road. She might be stolen, a neighbour tells me...
What?
The police, the Society for the protection of animals, the dog pound, everyone has been informed, but she isn´t here yet. I keep taking long walks, talking to strangers, driving up and down tracks and roads, I need her back, my baby dog.
Monty; Spaniel- Collie cross, black and white with brown spots, short ears and the most beautiful tail, a veil around her eyes that make her exotic, honey colour eyes and a very, very long tongue.
Monty´s Story
She was born on December 23th 2002, in the most unusual place.....Paddy´s foot.
Minden totally confused by the terrible stomach cramps she was experiencing mistook labour pains with the terrible shits´ and had been coming and going all over the house and garden, but somehow and to her surprise the very hard shit seemed stuck up her..... little did she know that that hard to get rid off shit was going to move and suck out of her. So in between comings and goings, it simply just fell off, and came to land on a very curious little boy called Paddy, whom was not too impressed at this point of having a bloody placenta with a tiny dog in it on his favourite sock. Minden of course having a brief pause in her long agony for the night just left the scene, completely unaware that she had just become a mother. The story after that has a very happy turn around. Minden was a wonderful mother to all her seven children, but there was one that was different from the moment she came into our lives, she was called Monty. Paddy named her, not my choice I must say I kept trying to persuade him to call her "Mora", she was so Moorish, she look like the dog of an Alhambra princess......I still always say to Paddy that she suits the name Mora much better...
At the tender age of eight weeks and after all her siblings had gone, she got very sick, after a weekend in London where she must have eaten something really bad, she got really bad, days later she had half of her stomach removed and she had to walk around with a bottle of drip hunging up by her leashed, very touching of course for all by-passers as we visited her every day in hospital. Ten days later, she was with us and ever since she has been happier and happier, a bit hypperactive, overloving and yes she was missing a common sense screw in that brain of hers, but she was the brightest and the most responsive dog I have ever known. Unlike The Duchess, aka, mum, aka Minden, who thought I was second in the pack for years, it has been a real fight between us, but we have both mature now......You see, now she thinks she is the pack leader, but I know.....I am.
Monty on the other hand has always been happy barking loud, thinking she is a wolf, posibly male, as her mother had shown her the raping game from a very young age. She did not rest much, life has been too exciting for her to take a rest. She loved jumping off bridges and diving and swimming, with children specially, this summer she had the time of her life jumping into the pool every time a child jumped in....
But she has been stolen!!!!!
We love you baby, I hope you can find us, I hope you are happy and you don´t lose your spirit.
